3/01/08 Expedition to Chile planned as part of Juan Fernández Firecrown(JFF) Project
The Hummingbird Society is organizing a small expedition to document progress in protecting this Critically
Endangered hummingbird species from extinction. Participants will include Executive Director Dr. Ross Hawkins, photographer
Dr. Juan Bahamon, videographer Tom Kaminski, and scientist Dr. Thomas Zuechner of Germany.
The Society needs support to make this trip affordable. In particular, we ask help in getting American Airlines frequent-flyer
miles (need 3 each of 35,000 miles) and Delta frequent-flyer miles (165,000 miles). Cash contributions are also being sought
to cover the flight from Santiago to Isla Robinson Crusoe (approximately 4 x $450) and to cover lodging. If you can help in
any of these areas, it will help us free up more funds for direct conservation. Please call us at (800) 529-3699 or email us
at info@hummingbirdsociety.org - and thanks in advance!

to resume soon
After a pause of many months, Hummingbirds On-Line!, the official e-newsletter of the Hummingbird Society, will be resuming shortly. When our previous e-mail distribution provider abruptly closed down its operations, it became necessary to find a new provider. We settled on EZezine, which has the highest reputation (an important consideration, as we do not wish our e-mail newsletters to be misjudged as spam).
We regret that our list of prior subscribers could not be uploaded to the database of the new provider. If you are in this group, it will be necessary for you to re-send your e-mail address using the link below. Sign up here.
